Employee Actions for Waste Reduction with Whirlpool Corporation

Event Date: 06/30/2021

Event Time: 1:00 pm

Venue: Online

Organizer: WMSBF

Michigan’s Great Southwest Sustainable Business Forum, a regional program of WMSBF, will host a discussion on Whirlpool Corporation’s campaign to reduce employee waste in workspaces, focusing on home offices.

In 2021, Whirlpool Corporation launched a global sustainability campaign: “No Place for Waste” to meet their employees where they were working: at home! As the company successfully launched their 2020 Sustainability Report, they encouraged their employees to take the challenge to green up their workspaces with a “Green Certification”. Using learnings from their operational and manufacturing success, they empowered their employees to take action at home to create a collective impact on the environment all while driving employee engagement with remotely-based employees.

Featured speakers include Kelly Tucker, Senior Manager of Global Communications at Whirlpool Corporation, who will highlight the campaign and how it was implemented to employees across the globe.  Bridget Cook, a member of the Sustainability Team at Whirlpool will discuss the experience of participating in “No Place for Waste”, and how the team worked together with an internal set of sustainability influencers to spread the word of the initiative. Cook will also review Whirlpool’s overall sustainability strategy and highlight the 2020 Sustainability Report.
