June Forum: West Michigan Fruit Ridge With In-Person Networking
West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum returned to in-person programs in June with an outdoor event at Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm Market in Alpine Township. The luncheon and networking event featured a discussion on the economic impact and sustainable business influence of the West Michigan Fruit Ridge.
The featured speaker was Gordon Moeller, Secretary and Treasurer of Ridge Economic Agricultural Partners (REAP), who highlighted the region’s sustainable agriculture projects. An Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm representative discussed how the family has sustained its farm since 1922, and how its modern practices are promoting environmental health and prosperity.
Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm Market is a family owned and operated local farm, certified for environmental responsibility by Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program. The farm boasts over 170 acres of asparagus, strawberries, cherries, apples, and pumpkins, and boasts a family farming tradition of almost 100 years.
